Perfect Lightweight Gitzo Monopod Setup..
Congratulations! Gitzo makes great stuff. I've been using my Gizo monopod for over 20 years and it still works perfectly.
I tried a Gitzo ballhead once, but the ballhead couldn't handle a 400 f/2.8 (no surprise). The housing around the ball finally split when I overtightened it. Unless you have a ridiculous weight on it, your setup should last as long as you do!
Thank you! I read so many reviews from happy Gitzo owners but until you actually hold it in your own hands, can you appreciate the quality and workmanship. I'm certainly another happy Gitzo owner.
Currently my largest lens is the Nikon 70-200 2.8 vr2, which I mount using the collar, it feels very balanced.
