Re: re: for indoors you'd usually want to use very ounce of light available...

About using it for indoor use, the problem is that it probably wouldn't often be at f4, but more like f5 to f5.6 most of the time, so it's another stop lost.  This is going to be slightly harder to use indoors.  I didn't have an issue with f4 or f4.5 using an A-mount 55-200 in a stage performance situation, but I was using ISO 800, for example, sometimes 1600.  With the 55-210, the OSS can't make up for movement on stage, so the ISO is going to increase and the AF might be sluggish in the low light.  So, my thought is that this is probably not going to be as good indoors as what I'm used to.  However, since I like having AF, I'll give it a try.

The last time I used it indoors at an event, the photos were slightly blurred when viewed at 100% but still with a lot of detail -- certainly good enough for small prints.  Why were they blurred?  Check this out:  ISO 1600, f6.3, 1/10... at about 140mm.  Or, 1600, f5.6, 1/13, at about 100mm in another photo.   That's pretty freaking good for OSS to make up that kind of a speed difference.  Still, I probably should have used ISO 3200.

I bought a 135/2.8 manual focus lens,but it's not too good at f2.8.  At f4, I have my old 55-200 I could use.

So, the way I see it, it's a matter of  ISO 3200 and AF (and more DOF), or ISO 1600, and manual focus (less noise and more chance of missing focus).
