Photoshop CS5 does automatic HDR processing — it is called HDR Pro. It does a fairly good job, and I use it when I am in a hurry. It handles ghosting, too.

I usually use Nikon’s free View NX2 software to convert my RAW files to 16 bit TIFFs for further processing in Photoshop. I like its image rendering a bit more than Adobe’s version.

I hate how Adobe is forcing us to update to newer ACR to get support for new cameras.
