Re: Soft skin effect

Does anyone have any experience of this setting? I'm wondering because as soon as my daughter presents me with my first grandchild in a week or so, I'll have some baby pics to take!

I'll shoot in both RAW and jpeg but was thinking of switching this on for the jpegs. Does this mode soften the entire image or is my N7 clever enough to just soften a face? If so, do I need to switch face recognition on - but this will mean shooting in multi focus point mode unstead of centre or flexible spot.

Any advice gratefully received.

If you are doing portraits of your subject, then use face recog. for better focusing at the face. It will soften the face.

But if you shoot RAW you can soft it in PP also. We are talking about a baby....then I think the face should be beautifully soft
