For some kinds of shooting, yes. But the HS series handles strong sunlight a bit better, especially in inexperienced hands. And it has more zoom range for birders. My guess is that it shoots raw a whole lot faster too ...

Still, the S100fs was a pretty good camera for its time.

but I think you overdone once again... Believe me I didn't like the HS-20 me too but for other more serious things... although as a camera is a good project...

That last part is hard to parse. There were serious issues with the HS20 but as a camera, it is a good project. Do you mean that you didn't like the HS20 when it was not being a camera?
