I think I may have FINALLY processed this shot right!!!!! C&C

Took this shot on vacation back in July. OK 3 bracketed shots really. It was my last trip before my K5 arrived, casual drive through with my wife to spots she had not been before.

Here was my first stab:

I felt this lacked a certain amount of foreground detail, and the sky was nowhere close to what I hoped.

Second Try:

A bit of overshoot here, foreground too blue and sky a little... overcooked.

Final and hopefully best try:

I think I like this more muted version with more detail in the foreground and better color balance.

What did I do differently?

I went back to my RAW files, and ran them through ACR: corrected the color balance a little bit, brought up the shadows in all 3 exposures to 100% and pulled the highlights down enough to eliminate all blown areas.

I then saved the files as 16bit TIFF, imported them into Photomatix and played for a little while until I liked it.

Which one do you like better?
