The EOS_M with the 22 mm lens does cost in Portugal 1452 usd , almost 1500 USD.

Not hard to see why people will not queue to buy it.

Here is the proof. In pixmania the camera with the 18-55 lens does cost 859 euros.

If you add the 22 mm lens its more 242 euros.

Total : 1101 euros = 1452 USD.

For less than half I can buy the canon eos 650D ( 669 Euros)

That's a very high price indeed, I cant argue with your not selecting the EOS M, particularly because the 650D is actually more camera for the value, even if the prices were equal. My suggestion in the OP was to suggest the M as an SLR companion, not replacement, though I'm sure some people would be satisfied with the EOS M if it were their only camera.

In the US you can get the EOS M for $725 with the 22mm lens. Rebel is about $700 with the kit lens.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

Indeed : The 650D is a lot more camera. ( But its not pocketeable).

Thanks for sharing with us your flickr pictures
