Why are there no good AF 50mm lenses available for Nikon?

Re: My first test

Thanks, Peter. I don't know if there's an ideal. An M9 + an 50mm Summilux would be great but wouldn't really allow me to do anything I can't do with my M7 (in terms of getting vs. not getting shots) except use higher ISOs. High ISO performance isn't really a priority for me. I'm pretty comfortable staying between 100 and 1600. However, if I'm going to go the dSLR route, I may as well take advantage of new opportunities to shoot in low light settings.

I'm also considering the Canon 6D plus the 50mm 1.4 or 50mm 1.2. I really like the quiet sound of its shutter in silent mode. It's nice and actually matters quite a bit to me. However, dynamic range also matters, and by all accounts, the D600 is considerably better in that area. And the Canon 50mm lenses seem to be a mixed bag.

I would consider something like the Fujifilm X-Pro 1 if it were full frame and had slightly faster autofocus.
