The focus issue was mainly a one of user error.

With lots of megapixels how you hold the camera and how you press the shutter button becomes more important than it is with fewer pixels.  Using Single Point AF as opposed to matrix AF also makes a big difference.

There are also manufacturing tolerances on all camera bodies and lenses so that not all lenses will focus properly with all bodies.  One of the best features of the 7D is the ability to do AF Microadjustment of each lens to give you the best possible image quality.

Will there be a replacement for the 7D in 2013?  Nobody who know is saying.

Should you keep the 7D or return it and wait to see if a replacement comes out soon?  If you are happy with your current camera then why not do that.  You can always buy another 7D in a couple of months if there isn't a replacement.  Of course the price might change, but will it go up or down is the question.
