Right now I am using a D7000 and probably will get an FX body in the future. I picked up a 180mm F2.8D and love it. Just curious from long time Nikon shooters are their any other AFD lenses I should consider?

The question is too unspecified: Lenses for what type of photography? Price range/limit?

My question was trying to find out which of the AFD lenses are really good and worth considering. I shoot all types of photography, landscape, macro, portrait, indoor groups etc etc. I'm not really looking for a specific use lens.

My example was the 180 F2.8 which seems to be an outstanding lens. So basically was asking which others of the AFD lenses are great performers and maybe which seem to be just so-so or are duds.

Ok, we have (at least) the following D-lenses (which sometimes have more than one version):

14/2.8 D

16/2.8 D

18/2.8 D

20/2.8 D

24/2.8 D

24/3.5 D

28/2.8 D

28/1.4 D

35/2 D

45/2.8 D

50/1.8 D

50/1.4 D

60/2.8 D

85/1.8 D

85/1.4 D

85/2.8 D

105/2 D

105/2.8 D

135/2 D

180/2.8 D

200/4 D

300/4 D

300/2.8 D

400/2.8 D

500/4 D

600/4 D

17-35/2.8 D

18-35/3.5-4.5 D

20-35/2.8 D

24-50/3.3-4.5 D

24-85/2.8-4 D

24-120/3.5-5.6 D

75-240/4.5-5.6 D

80-200/2.8 D

80-200/4.5-5.6 D

80-400/4.5-5.6 D

The list includes fisheyes, micros, medical, PC, PC-E, ...

Your question is nonsense as there are at least 47 basic lenses, ranging from fisheye and 14 to 600 millimetres and micros, medicals and PCs, used prices ranging from next-to-nothing to more than 6000 USD.

And ist also depends on the purpose, the camera and the final output.

Basically any micro, medical, PC-E and fast tele primes are very good. But as always, it depends on your purpose, the cam, the final output and your budget.
