It has always surprised me...

It has always surprised me how remote Colorado National Monument can feel when you are in it, but just how close it is to the Grand Junction area. Your photo, of course, shows the latter.

Is this photo of Independence Monument or Kissing Couple, or ???

My son climbed Independence Monument 9-1/2 years ago at age 14. As climbs go, it's not terribly difficult. I have a few film shots of that left over somewhere. As you did here, I went up on Rim Rock Drive and picked a good elevated vantage point for my photos.

Thanks for sharing.

This photo was taken a month ago from the same vantage point as the wide angle winter photo I posted yesterday on the Colorado National Monument
