18-105 repair cost?
As a public service announcement let me state: lens and sand should never meet.
I live two blocks from the beach and spend a lot of time there with the camera, so I guess it was inevitable something like this would eventually happen.
I have an 18-105mm lens that was dropped and now has a sticking shutter and zoom barrels that grind due to the sand in the lens.
What can I expect for a repair cost and turn around time?
Should I use one of the authorized Nikon repair shops or Nikon themselves?
Has anyone used the authorized repair shops in New York City or Michigan?
I am in Florida.
