Christmas with two 17mm lenses

This Christmas was spent in Wales with my family, but it afforded an opportunity to compare shots taken with two primes of similar focal lengths, the Olympus 17mm F1.8 and the Voigtlander 17.5mm.

Blog post (not addressing this topic but with many more photos here):

Some samples here:

First the Oly 17mm F1.8:

These next two are with the Voigtlander

Some thoughts - while I prefer the output from the Voigtlander, the Oly holds up well, very well. Its bokeh looks good (to me at least). It's also perfect for family candid shots, with its fast and accurate AF.

Everytime I use the Oly it it is quietly whispering in my ear about listing my X100 on ebay in a way my Panny 20mm never did.

All taken with my E-M5
