Re: Anyone ever go from full frame to crop?

I go back and forth.

Not your typical answer:

The a99 and a77 were the same price at purchase, more or less but:

I use the a77 if I'm out in rough weather, or shooting birds.  It's OLDER, and it has longer reach.

I go back to FF when reach is not important, and I want more resolution.

So the best of both worlds.

I had a Minolta x370 for years.  (35 mil film)

Then went to a Kodak brick silver thing for 3 years.

The a hiatus and the a100.

Then the a77 because the a100 really turned my crank.

I might have stuck with the next camera after the 77 but I saw so much I liked in the 99 so I went there.  BUT, I can see sitting and waiting for the next camera in the 77's line, it will be awesome, and I might NEED one.

Really, if the camera does what you want, stick with it.

If you see a reason to change and can afford it, DO it.  The a99 is one heck of a piece of gear.  My juices flow, and I want to spend the day with it.

It snowed today so the 77 came along for the ride.  Of course then the sun came out!
