Re: More Legacy Lens Talk!

I have a mix of legacy lenses -- Canon, Nikkor, Konica & Pentax -- see my Flickr for a sampling of legacy glass results:

I'm very partial to the Canon FDn 50 f1.4 -- it is my favourite portrait lens.  Lovely bokeh, clean crisp and smooth but not quite soft, warm colour ... IMHO you'll never find a more satisfying lens for the $50 it is likely to cost you.  The wider Nikkors (24 & 28) are ok, good even, but not stellar -- and as you say wider than that you won't find, at least not at any kind of bargain.  Telephoto options are terrific -- you can find 200mm f2.8 Canon lenses for under $200, and 135 f2.8 for under $100.

Best to just buy some bargain lenses and experiment -- the return is far greater than the cost!
