Re: Is anyone having sucess shooting infrared with the FZ150

Old age stopped me using heavy Canon DSLRs and lenses, and the FZ150 was so impressive I bought two. I would have bought the comparable Canon bridge camera at the time, the SX40, but it had no RAW shooting facility.

I have had two IR converted DSLRs but the last one was blown over in a gale and smashed – some shots can be seen on my website, below.

I then found the Canon SX50HS and bought it which leaves me with a spare FZ150.

I tried the FZ150 with an external IR filter but the grain was terrible.

I don't think a modified DSLR can produce IR images the like of those produced by a film camera. Producing IR images by post processing in PS was not successful for me but I was getting better results with Lightroom.

I plan to try again if there is some sun on leafy trees before the next mass extinction – or mine!
