Re: FF NEX - classic RF wide worries

The NEX7 was an aberration.

The 24Mp fullframe E-mount in the VG900 shows what can be done.

A bunch of RF lenses were tested.

And the color is excellent.

There is however a lot detail that gets smeared in the corners.

This is due to the thickness and optical refraction of the layers stacked in front of the sensor, that is used to reduce video moire appropriate for a camcorder.

Hopefully, an AA free sensor will be used in a future fullframe stills camera (just like the GXR, K5II, D800e etc).

Leica 24mm looses corner sharpness, but that is acceptable for "a 20mm or so RF lens", ie. a 16mm equiv. FOV on APS-C.

If Sony can optimize the layer stack, the 24Mp FF Nex should handle RF lenses just fine.
