very good point.  I try to stay from exposure compensation as much as possible and tend to use exposure lock to obtain the proper exposure, such as obtaining exposure by grabbing it from a shadow or dark area, then recomposing and refocusing (back button).  Or vice versa, when I am overexposing the bright areas.  When I am shooting the formals I tend to go full manual when I am struggling with lighting and exposure with the changing of the sky/sunset.  Auto ISO is great for the ceremony shots when you are running and
