Maybe you guys are all rich?

Maybe you guys are all rich, but I'm not.

A D400 will probably cost around £1300-1500 UK prices.  A D800 is around £2000 now.  I could manage that, but then I'd have to replace my 16-85 lens.  The 24-120 costs over £800, and isn't optically as good, so before I see any improvement in IQ I'd probably have spent around £1500-2000 in a couple of lenses to cover the range.

So for me to go FX would cost £3500-4000 to do little more than stay where I am in image quality.  Or £1300-1500 for a D400, if it ever comes.

Forget reach, forget size and weight, forget DoF.  The reason why I'm unlikely to go FX in the near future is money.  End of.
