This agrees with my experience. For the money, it is an excellent lens (can't justify the additional $1000 for the f/1.4). I have not noticed any focus shift; most of my shots were of medium to long-distances. Super sharp (usually shooting around f/5.6-f/8, but I have a couple at f/1.8 that are strikingly sharp).
