I use a combination method. In ACR I carefully process the first image to taste. Then, the program lets me use one button to process the next image the same way. If the second image looks good I'm done and on to the third, and so on. If the second image needs small tweaks I make them and use that processing for the next image, continuing this process until I'm finished with a shoot. Of course this only works if all the shots are in basically the same light. That is my compromise between processing each picture on its own and processing them all the same.
