New Garage Studio Setup

Hi all,

I'm looking to turn my garage into part-time photo studio, and would really appreciate some advice and technical input.

The space is 4m x 4m (13ft x 13ft), with no windows/natural light sources.

Ideally I'd have an interchangeable background screen, with various lighting options, to allow me to experiment and learn more about lighting. The set-up would be predominately for portrait work.

Here's the kit I currently have:

Canon 550D, Canon 600EX0RT Speedlite, 50mm f1.4, 35mm f1.8, 18-55 kit lens, collapsible reflector, collapsible background screen (grey, white, black), remote trigger, Manfrotto XPROB tripod.

What's the best way for me to progress to a studio setup, from what I currently have in this space?

Thanks and Merry Christmas...

Canon EOS 550D (EOS Rebel T2i / EOS Kiss X4)
