No such thing as "One size fits all" when it comes to PP

Just started to play with DPP and have figured out that batch processing will give the same results exactly like straight from the camera unless adjustments are made. Can some please give me what settings they are getting good results from and how to set DPP up so as to use the same setting each time a batch is processed.

As we spend more time in PP one thing becomes apparent rather quickly: What works for one scene probably will not work or have the desired effect on another. Take portraits as an example, most subjects find the extreme level of skin detail from most cameras today to be a bit disturbing. Women don't like to see razor sharp images of their facial hair, skin pores, or wrinkles. But most of us like to see as much detail as possible in landscape or architectural scenes or our pets. At the end of the day it really comes down to personal taste.

DPP does support a feature called recipes, when you achieve the desired result it's a simple matter of saving the settings as a recipe that can be called up later and applied to multiple images.
