I was specifically referring to Macs in my post. As I said there, the rewrapped m4v or mov files can be imported directly into iMovie, and that is the program that I use for editing my 1080/60p video clips.

For editing with iMovie I have no problems using my early 2008 iMac. I find that iMovie is quite adequate for my edting needs and it can handle 1080/60p very well. It has an extensive range of functions and it is provided free with Apple Macs.

This is a video of a Rainbow Lorikeet that i edited with iMovie in 1080/60p AVCHD from my ZS20:
