Off center hotshoe with viewfinders...

Hey guys,

I'm new to using external optical finders, and just purchased an Olympus VF-1 to use on my Canon G12.

I've been looking at several street cameras to buy down the road, but it looks like most of them don't have a hotshoe centered with the lens(including Leica).

Is this at all something I should be cautious of? Obviously the main window on all rangefinders is not centered, and adjusting to parallax is just part of the game.

When you Leica users mount an external finder, is the hotshoe placement annoying, or would a centered hotshoe not matter?
