300D - Spider Web Marks on CCD

I gave a family member my 300D a few years ago when I got a newer model. Since then, the camera seems to have developed some sort of marks on the CCD that I'm having trouble removing, and it's resulting in spider web effects / cracking in the top left and bottom right areas of the image.

I've tried cleaning it, but the sensor itself seems to be behind a pane of protective glass, so I can't access it.

Here's a pic of the CCD / protective glass pane (before cleaning). The glass pane is now clean(er), but the spider webs remain. You can see that the spec on the glass is higher than the spider webs as it reflects off the CCD, whereas the spider webs are actually on the CCD itself.

Here's an example of the unwanted effect it produces:

Is it possible to remove the glass, or is this a job for the Canon Service Center? Do you think it's even cleanable, or is this permanent damage / cracks?
