The last addition to this series is the city of Segovia. It's very well know in Spain because of its roman aqueduct, but the city itself is absolutely gorgeus and was a surprise for me. If you want to see castilian splendor at its best, you should visit Segovia, not Madrid which was founded later. I particularly enjoyed the Alcazar. It's kind of a castle, and pictures can't make it justice. It surrounded by a moat no less than 20 meters deep, and looks as if it was just taken out of a children's tale. The aqueduct itself is also absolutely impressive. It's 28 meters tall at its highest point, and when you touch the stones you can feel the energy of 20 centuries flowing through it. It was assembled without using any kind of concrete.
