Amazon Adventure—Documenting Life in Ecuador's Yasuní National Park

Published on Dec 17, 2012

Ecuador's Yasuní Park is one of the Amazon's last wild frontiers, boasting an incredible biodiversity—treetop orchids, prowling jaguars, nearly 600 species of birds—and serving as home for two indigenous nations. But a vast untapped oil supply beneath the forest floor is attracting the attention of multinational oil companies. National Geographic sent a team of five photographers, each with a different specialty, into the heart of the Amazon to document the delicate balance of life in Yasuní and how it is being impacted by the demand for oil.

No doubt that Canon has great cameras.... but also no doubt that Canon has run multiple huge double-truck ads in every NG issue for many many years now.

I would hazard a guess that most of that equipment is provided gratis to the NG staff shooters....

Just sayin...

Search Joel Sartore, a little photographer who shoots for National Geo once in a while....

Here's what he shoots with:

But I guess as soon as he reads this thread and realizes Canon equipment is superior to his, he'll have to sell all that gear and make the switch. Geez he is going to take a major loss on that stuff!

Joe is one amazing photographer and person the message he passes about our dangerous species is in fact one of the most important aspects of today's world. This is an important matter that our society/civilization should and can care after.
