The way I look at it, if Nikon claims "impact damage," they should be able to point to a place on the outside of the body that shows impact, or at least some physical damage.  Otherwise it's bull.  BTW, I am getting a photo equipment rider on my homeowner's policy that covers physical damage as well as theft.  If I ever get the "impact damage" runaround from Nikon, as least I will be able to make an insurance claim, I hope.
