Re: Good? ol' 24mm AIS Manual Focus lens

I love using my AI and AIS manual lenses on my D800E. In fact, I'm adding to my collection. I have the 24mm f/2.8, 105mm f/2.5, 135mm f/2.8 and 200mm f/4. (Soon to come are 50-55 mm f/1.2 and f/1.4 lenses and 180mm.)

I rate them all as excellent performers, although the 105 and 200 are my favorites of the group. While performance certainly can vary from sample to sample of any lens line, these all turn in professional-grade images.

There is a remarkable thread (if only by the length) on the Fred Miranda site dedicated to manual focus Nikon lenses on (mostly) current digital cameras:

It's currently at 2374 pages.

You can get the 24mm, used, in excellent condition for much less than the new lens price. Check out KEH or eBay.
