I'm no fan of the way Microsoft has rolled out the touch interface in Windows 8, but that shouldn't stop you from using it with a desktop monitor. With a small tweak you can have it always start up in classic desktop mode and continue to use it with your mouse and keyboard just as you do today.
You are right, but I was just saying if you were using it the way Microsoft intended and without any work around I find it not very practical to use the interface if you can't reach the screen without constantly changing your position or sitting closer then you would like.
We have an Ipad and yes that works ok, But it's at arms reach.
