I see the same thing.  At f1.4 half-pressing and releasing the shutter without taking a photo in a dim room doesn't show the flash however if I set it to f8 and half-press and release the shutter the image birghtens considerably for a split second causing what looks like a white flash.  Not sure why though and like fburger, my camera works properly. Probably just an idiosyncrasy of the LX7.
