I can't argue with that. What I consider sharp maybe be different from other people.

Actually I was suspecting that your ability to handhold at 1/FL may be less than the average.

I think that might be the issue with a certain percentage of these assertions.  If that's the case, folks are not really mistaken when they claim that "you need a tripod" for sharp shots - they're just describing their personal situation.
