I've often though with these broad multi-AF sensor cameras, if Nikon or Canon could set it up so when a tilt/shift was put on, all AF points would become active and any shift/tilt you did would feed the focus dot and maybe the side arrows would light to say top & bottom, or left & right were in focus depending on the movement or which way to move to maximize the focus.  May even lead to a fully automatic AF tilt-shift lens too.

Food for thought for whomever designs these things.  Of course, the bodies AF alignment would have to be tack-on too and not some left focus error over the right, etc. as we've seen.
