No, I would not say that, Silkypix is just different to say Adobe... but the

appears really good compared to ACR.

Coincidently, I've been doing a fair bit of experimenting with CS6 / LR4 ACR engine to see if it worth moving up - at first glance Silkypix 5 does a far better job... even bolt on the ACR - deNoise or NeatImage plugins -   as regards further manipulation CS5 or even some of the less popular softare is fine...

There are additional promises of one image HDR, AWB improvements, Black Level tools and improvements to colour mode but I haven't really looked at them yet...

The resultant after PP in this software looks very good, time taken relatively short and for me it appears as good if not better that ACR and I probably buy it.
