Well, they could simply mark it down. It's not really "value priced" right now...

... except, of course, in comparison to the other current models.  The widely available 5D Mark II is about the same price.  Meanwhile the prices of the overpriced 6D have already started to fall.

The only reason not to offer the 6D at $1,500 is bean-counting wariness and failure to see the big picture.  If Canon had offered it at $1,500, they would have taken the market by storm, as they used to care to do in the distant past.
