Re: V1 on safari

Thanks for the tips.  Never been to Africa before and since I only have 1 day Free, I want to make most of it.  In amazon I regretted taking the wrong equipment (again it was work trip, but i did not realize that being in the boat so frequently to go from village to village would have provided me with ample chance to take pictures).

I will leave the Samsung on the belt pouch as back-up (if I need a 24 mm or off angle shot) and start with one J1 with 10-30 around my neck and one with 70-300/ft1 on my hand.

Was the focus on the 70-200/ft1 fast enough for any moving animalS? I thought about 30-100 for moving animals.

ps. I truly believe photography as a hobby is defined by the pleasure you get from the activity. It does not matter what equipment or results. I am a hobbyist and a very awful photographer (snapshooter is a better name) but a very happy one.
