? Software for Sony RX1
I agree - Sony's Image Data Converter is no fun at all. It tends to crash on my well decked out desktop. But for free, it is quick to download and install and if one hasn't ever used raw conversion and editing software before, the hidden benefit in using IDC at least once is that you'll much better like the alternatives.
I'm a LR/ACR user myself. Lightroom 4.2 currently does not support the RX1 raw files; 4.3 when it is released should - there are versions of the 4.3 beta out there (not yet available to the public) which have RX1 support.
One can fool Lightroom 4.2 or current Adobe Camera Raw into loading up RX1 files by reassigning the tag SonyModelId to the value: SLT-A99V. You won't have lens correction profiles but can manually apply barrel distortion correction.
Phase One's Capture One Pro supports the RX1 now ; there is a trial version available.
