I'm normally not a speculator, so first a question: was the mirrorless A-mount project dropped because it's not feasible, given the mount design?

I have a feeling Sony won't drop the A-mount. There are already far more lenses of this type due to Sony's success (relative to KM) in the digital field; as well, Sony's well aware that their own original statements (while technically having a little leeway) indicate ongoing support. Another point is that it would send a very bad signal to those owning or interested in competing brands. And I don't think you manufacture so many lenses and bodies that you can just dump; for me the A-mount is safe, and what's most important is what I've got right now.
