A lens conundrum, and some advice, please

I have been given an A99, and I am very pleased thus far. But, I will need to replace my SAL1650 2.8 with a lens that shows the A99 capability.

Here's the conundrum..

I have been told (by my wonderful SO) I can have a SAL2470Z (the Carl Zeiss wide angle zoom), but it is a LOT of money, and I am wondering if this might be a better option, for less total outlay:

SAL2470Z: £1450

SAL2875 f2.8  and  SAL100 f2.8 (for macro work). Total: £550 + £550 = £1100

I know some of you will say 'go for quality' but I am an amateur, not a pro, and don't get out as much as I'd like with the camera. I do like to experiment with different types of photography.

I wonder what you might advise, especially those who have experience with these lenses.

Thanks in advance. Rob
