Re: DX primes

Because a DX prime will be small and cheaper.

I'm dreaming more for an 135mm F1.8G DX, under <1000 Euros

Thanks for your reply. Since the D200 lacks in high ISO performance, I was hoping to get a fast wide angle prime, around a 20mm 1.8. I know I can get a wide angle prime FX lens; I was just surprised at the lack of DX primes.

OK, I get what you are saying. Not sure I know why it needs to be a DX prime. All FX prime lenses are really DX lenses. For a larger zoom they can make the lens smaller and lighter by making it only DX. Not that much of a difference for a small prime.

I think you will see Nikon put a few more DX prime lenses coming out, but it is mainly because the lower end bodies can't use the screw drive lenses, so there is a little bit of a hole there in the lens lineup for that body line.
