For all of the asto photographers and enthuisiasts Patrick Moore of The Sky at Night fame has passed away aged 89 years. Certainly in the UK he gave great help to and encouraged youngsters in the use of both telescopes and cameras when wishing to photograph the heavenly bodies. He will be sadly missed.

Thanks, Dave.

He was a lovely man. Someone who's life really made a big difference, as they say.

Gosh... I was wondering, only the other night, for how much longer we might have him around...??

Oh dear! (sigh)

Brian May was talking about him in glowing terms this morning. He would make the right kind of successor on "The Sky at Night," I'm thinking. (Please consider it, Brian)

I actually watched Sir Pat's first show, right back in '57. I was eleven. I have every intention of watching his last broadcast, when it goes out next month.

The music never failed to get to me... ("At the Castle Gate" "Pelléas et Mélisande," Sibelius.)
