I live in a regional centre in Queensland, Australia, and it's a place that I consider to be quite backwards to a lot of things. In terms of photos, people generally freak out, avoid, or cite incorrect privacy laws (or worse, come at you) when they see you pointing a dslr at them. Experience tells me to not do street photos there.
So when I got a chance to visit a suburb in Sydney where there is a vibrant mix of immigrants, vendors, and the homeless, I summoned up courage to point my camera at strangers.
