Hello Everyone -

As always - last week's thread was packed with outstanding - timeless images. I'm looking forward to more of your monochromatic treats! So charge up your batteries - and let the game begin!

It's time again for your monochromes of the week. You may post as little or as many images you have to share.

The image(s) can be from any camera, you can say what it is if you like. You can also say whether it was an in camera B&W and themode or what PP software you use if you like.

Reply to this first post and change your subject line to reflect your subject. Please switch to "threaded view" instead of "flat view". I try and respond to all posts, but if your post is not threaded properly I may miss it.

You may include the colour originals if you like for comparison.
It would be nice to hear why you chose B&W instead of colour.

Please be nice and comment on any photos you like. If possible, let's leave a full day for posting of the images and then we can follow up with comments. This should allow more people anopportunityto post an image.

Thanks in advance to all who participate and for making this something to look forward to each week.

Taken with LX7. One of my first trials. I originally used the Dynamic Monochrome setting but when I loaded the Raw file into Lightroom those settings were lost so I converted it again.

Aww, there's one in every crowd. I'm thinking of taking out troll membership in the new year and using the image as my avatar on DPR.

Split-toned in Lightroom, with an assist from Silver Efex Pro.

Hi there!

P.S. It's not actually a self-portrait.

I have been away for the forum for no good reason. But, it is great to see some of the old hands still doing B/W on Saturday.

In back of me, Walmart and Panera (among many others). In front of me, this. Taken with the LX3. I have a thing for B&W skies, plus the color version's blue sky looks a little over the top. I could work on that, but I need to wrap Christmas presents. :-) Here are both versions.
