Is there a way to protect or lock photos in Aperture? I use Aperture to edit my photos, but am using iPhoto for a photo book layout. I'm marking the photos I'm using in the book with a color label, and also marking them a 5-star rating, but I'd like a way to lock them so I don't accidentally delete any that I'm using in the photo book.

Is there a simple way to do this? Thanks.

Why not export the photos and the book (presumably already in a separate project or folder) into a new library. Make sure that the export contains the originals. That way you have a separate library that you can archive.

Don't ask how, read the manual...it's not hard.
