Looks like capable lens for this focal length and price point.

I'm somewhat surprised that there is so little response to the published samples. Maybe the camera choice to take the pictures was not what was expected but on the other hand the lens is available in Canon mount only, at least for now.

Since Sigma is now a camera maker with proprietary SA mount it is like a slap in the face for all SD series users that they have to wait for their turn to savor the newest and greatest lenses Sigma has to offer. Unless I'm missing something?

Well, Canon users are probably Sigma's largest market, and the concept may be to start making money from that large market as soon as possible.

Sigma is not run only to benefit the Sigma camera users.

Understanding and forgiveness by Foveon crowd always was and still is unprecedented.

It is ironic (in my mind) that such business decisions leave the Sigma's faithful salivating in wait for support for their own camera systems. To simplify: Canon camera DSLR user is in privileged position over Sigma camera user. I guess (following your logic), SA mount lenses will be the last to become available. Looks like quite disrespectful strategy from point of view of Sigma DSLR user, I think.
