Re: 4:3, 3:2 or 16:9?

When I was into 35mm film photography, I primarily shot slides and showed them on a slide project. I was just not into prints so much. With digital photography, slides aren't an option, but now a lot of media players, Blu-ray players and even HDTVs themselves have the option of doing slideshows from JPEG files. For the last few years, I've shot mostly 16:9 and share the pictures on the HDTV. It also means that the video I shoot is at the same aspect ratio as my stills.

On the other hand, we made a few photo albums of pictures for my mother, using 4x6 prints and I had to crop my 16:9 stills to 4:3. And now my wife seems to be asking for 4x6 prints more often, so I'm either stuck with cropping my stills or going back and forth in formats depending on what I think the primary output will be; HDTV or prints.
