This place has lost interest for photography. It's just about (really poor) gear talk.

People at the highest level are no longer so zealous in their desire to go out and take pictures. I love it. I really love getting out there, miles away from anything with a couple dozen pounds of gear on my back. It's not so much a burden as it is a reassurance. No matter what lies ahead, you're covered. I think the vast majority of photography is just being there in fhe first place. Then your passion. Then your gear. But the gear is important. I just think it's not the most important piece of the puzzle.

I totally agree

Yes, getting out in the field away from the road walking with a tripod and camera on a trail that accesses a place where I go to capture wildlife is wonderful.  The camera stuff is important and the capture of a wildlife subject is important. but more important is just being there.

Every trip into the field is a success even without a good capture!!!!!
