A New Tamron 24-70mm VC or used Nikkor 24-70mm for the same price?

I'd go for the Tamron. Although the Nikon is slightly better in the corners, the Tamron does better in center sharpness at some settings and has a very good VC system. The one I tried focused perfectly. You'll read lots of posts, but most have not shot with the Tamron and are cruising the web for their opinions. Try the lens as I did and form your own!

The VC opens up another avenue of shooting options that the Nikon lens can't do at all.

Nikon will update the 24-70 down the road and add VR. They won't stand for losing sales to Tamron. Buy the Tamron and upgrade to the new Nikon VR version down the road.

If you're a pixel peeper get the Nikon....ahhhh, choices!
