Thanks Max. Yes, I had a look at your chart and posts about the X10 before I bought it as I was a little confused about all the different possibilities. My idea is to shoot family/holiday stuff at 6mp DR400% as I don't want large files and I'm more interested in boosting the dynamic range seeing as it's a small sensor.

I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with the 6mp output.  I'm certainly seeing better detail if I scale down a 12mp file to 6mp. I was expecting the same detail in the straight 6mp files but it's not there.

Still, I'm not really worried about that. My main reason in buying the camera was to have fun with it.
